Drop your kids off at Modesto Children’s Museum for the evening to enjoy time doing… whatever you want to do!

During our special Parents’ Night Out evenings, your campers will enjoy three hours of after-hours play, hands-on activities, group games, and event-exclusive crafts, plus dinner, snacks, movie time, and more!

Time: 5:30 (drop-off begins) to 9:00 (pick-up ends)
Cost: $35 for your first camper ($30 for siblings)
Members: Save $10 per camper!

How it works

  • Registration is $35 for your first camper with a special reduced price of $30 for additional siblings. Plus, MoChiMu Members receive $10 off all registrations!

  • We’ll send you all the forms required before Parents’ Night Out begins, ensuring a seamless and safe drop-off and pick-up process at the museum.

  • On the day of the event, you can drop off your camper anytime between 5:30 and 6:00 PM, when our evening of activities begins!

  • While your camper spends three hours with our staff of Camp Teachers playing games, crafting, and making new friends, you can enjoy a carefree evening – or grab dinner downtown!

  • Thanks to our friends at SaveMart, dinner and a snack are provided for your camper – but feel free to send a packed, labeled lunch that doesn’t require reheating if your camper has special dietary restrictions.

  • Pick up your camper by 9:00 PM – they’ll be ready for a good night’s sleep! That’s three hours of MoChiMu “babysitting” for $35!

  • The cost to participate is $35 for your first camper, and $30 for additional sibling campers.

    Members received a special rate of $25 for first camper and $20 for additional sibling campers.

  • Parents’ Night Out is designed for children ages 5-11. We may be able to accommodate 4 year old siblings, but they must be accompanied by an older sibling and must be potty trained.

    We’ll ask for your children’s ages in the Final Registration Form sent a week prior to the event. Children may be broken up into age-based groups for night-of activities, so please include the age of all participating children in your Registration Form.

  • To register your kids for Parents’ Night Out, you must complete two steps…

    1.) Register your child online here – this is where you’ll pay to reserve your slot and provide your email.

    2.) A week prior to the evening, we’ll send you a Final Registration Form for your family (where you can name emergency contacts, authorized pick-ups, allergies, etc.) and a Waiver of Liability required to participate in any of Modesto Children’s Museum’s “drop-off” style programming. You’ll need to complete those before check-in on the event date.

  • We ask that all children be dropped off within the specified windows of 5:30 to 6 PM. You can pick up your children at any time, but no later than 9 PM.

  • 4 year olds who are accompanied by an older sibling and are also able to use the restroom independently are welcome to participate in Parents’ Night Out!

  • Due to the nature of this program, pre-registration is required and will close prior to the day of the event.

  • Parents’ Night Out uses the same check-in and check-out system as our Camp MoChiMu program. On the Final Registration Form sent prior to the event, you’ll list any authorized pick-ups. Then, at check-in, we’ll provide you with Pick-Up Slips that serve as a quick ID check.
