How CAMP MOCHIMU Works

Turn your child’s summer into a season of discovery with Camp MoChiMu! Sign up for your choice of camps – each offering full-days of exciting programs and exploration for campers ages 5 through 11. Here’s how it works:

  1. Map out your summer! We offer two repeating themes — “Design It, Test It, Build It!” and “Storybook Adventures.” That means your camper can come to up to two weeks of Camp MoChiMu! Use the dates above to plan!

  2. Get the details! Read through our frequently-asked questions at the bottom of this page or reach out to email us if you can’t find an answer.

  3. Sign-up your campers! Use the links above to sign-up your campers for Camp MoChiMu. Payment is due at the time of booking and is non-refundable.

  4. Complete registration! About a week ahead of camp, we’ll reach out with a required final registration form collecting additional information we need – like emergency contacts, medical forms, approved pick-ups, and more.

FREQUENTLY-ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Camp MoChiMu offers week- and day-long experiences that merge the discovery of the classroom with the spirit of summer camp! Our “Camp Teachers” spend the day leading campers through hands-on activities, games, crafts, and more – all centered on our theme for the day or week. Campers are actively engaged in curriculum, exploration, and play all day long!

  • To attend our Summer Camp, campers should be between the ages of 5 and 11 at the time the camp takes place.

  • No. You will need to send a packed lunch and a snack for your camper each day! MoChiMu will provide a snack as well.

  • No. Though campers do spend time in the Modesto Children’s Museum each day, most of Camp MoChiMu takes place in our private Camp Rooms. That’s where our Camp Teachers lead campers through crafts, games, and activities. We also take occasional “field trips” to the MoRo Music Garden at the Gallo Center across the street for games and picnic lunches, weather permitting.

  • Sometimes! Depending upon camp attendance on any given week, we may split campers by age group for particular activities or for most of the day, meaning siblings could be split up to participate in developmentally-appropriate activities with peers.

  • Using the links on this page to process payment for camp officially reserves your spot! Then, about one week prior to camp, our Education team will reach out with two essential forms for you to fill out: a Waiver required for all campers, plus a Final Registration Form, which is where we’ll collect information about your camper, allergies, accommodations, authorized pick-up, and more.

  • This summer, we’re proud to be launching new themes for our weeks – Super Science Academy and Camp Creativity! Camp MoChiMu alumni will certainly recognize some “best of” activities and experiences, but with new friends, new games, new experiments, and a camper who’s a year older, we’re confident that your camper will enjoy another summer at Camp MoChiMu!

  • For most weeks of summer, we have only the week-long option. We hope you can understand that this makes attendance, pricing, and safety processes easier for our team and for your family.

This summer, we are proud to offer one week of “a la carte” Day Camps the week of June 30 - July 3. During this week only, you can either register for one-off days, or for all four days at a discounted rate!

  • Unfortunately, we do not offer “Extended Care” that would permit an early drop-off or a late pick-up during the summer. You will need to ensure your camper is dropped off no earlier than 8:45 AM, and picked up no later than 4:15 PM. We apologize, and are actively working to develop a staffing model that would allow for Extended Care opportunities for future years!

  • Please feel free to reach out to us by emailing us here, and we’ll respond to your question as soon as we can!
