Our "Build-Your-Birthday" package offer flexibility based on your party size! The base party package of $350 includes both your private room rental of our premium Maker Lab space, admission for the birthday celebrant, and party & museum admission for your first 10 guests. Then, each additional guests costs $14 – a special package price that includes admission to the museum for the whole day after your party. You can also select add-ons like 15-minute Workshops that occur during your hour-long room rental.

Absolutely. You are welcome to bring food and (non-alcoholic) drinks for your party. Our team can help store food that needs to remain cool until you're ready for it. We ask that you please be mindful of helping to reset the Maker Lab at your party's end by assisting our staff in clearing any food or drink you bring in, and the Maker Lab will "transform" back into an museum exhibit space at the conclusion of your hour-long room rental!

In general, we say that MoChiMu's exhibit spaces are designed for ages 0 to 10. Regardless of which activity package you choose, we'll have a number of hands-on activities appropriate for all ages since we know siblings, cousins, and multi-age friends will be part of the fun!

We require that the fixed-price base package ($350) and any additional fixed-price add-ons (i.e., a $150 workshop) be pre-paid as a non-refundable deposit required to hold the date within one week of booking (or a week prior to your party – whichever is earlier). The remainder of your payment should be made day-of, and will fluctuate based on the number of people (adults + children) who attend your party.

We require this deposit to be paid within 7 days of booking in order to keep your space. For that reason, please only fill out the booking request form when you know you're ready to lock in your party!

You can pay your non-refundable deposit by calling our Director of Administration, Allie, at 209-232-6060 ex. 201 during regular business hours.

Your "Birthday @ MoChiMu" package includes the hour-long room rental of the museum's Maker Lab space (plus a 30 minute window ahead of the party's start for you to decorate and organize the room as you like), a number of hands-on activities set up around the Maker Lab for your party, general room decor (i.e. banners, tablecloths, centerpieces, etc., subject to change), and a celebration attendant.

You can add a 15 minute hands-on "Workshop" lead by your celebration attendant with a make-and-take element for each child. Available Workshops and add-ons may change based on when you book – see the booking request form for our current offerings!

You are welcome to invite friends and family to come to MoChiMu without a room rental by having them pre-purchase their own tickets on our Tickets & Information page. Purchasing 10 or more tickets online is not possible, and our staff unfortunately cannot assist in managing guest lists or checking in multiple groups as part of an "unofficial" party.

Note that outside of our Birthdays @ MoChiMu program, we do not allow food and drink inside of the museum, and you will not have a private party space.

Our Birthdays @ MoChiMu packages also include free admission to the museum for your birthday celebrant and a discounted per-person party-goer rate versus general admission to the museum, making a "Birthdays @ MoChiMu" package your "best value"!

Yes! If a Birthday package fits your requirements (i.e., 10 - 45 people with an hour-long room rental), then the Birthdays @ MoChiMu package can be applied to your graduation, reunion, or other family party. Just call MoChiMu's Manager of Youth & Family Programs at 209-232-6060 ex. 105 to discuss details.

For groups larger than 45, we also offer full after-hours museum rental geared toward corporate events, large family reunions, team-building evenings, and other special occasions. For more information, call our Director of Development at 209-232-6060 ex. 106.
