Experience the eclipse via Children’s Museum
With the Monday, April 8 date for the solar eclipse fast approaching, the Modesto Children’s Museum (MoChiMu) is partnering with Sutter Health to present a once-in-20-years learning opportunity for the children of the Central Valley. All are encouraged to join in at one of the many viewing locations across Stanislaus County on April 8 between 9:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. for free, publicly accessible, and safe eclipse viewing and education, being put on by the educational hub of the Children’s Museum.
MoChiMu will be taking education on the road for this eclipse with partners across Stanislaus County to provide educational opportunities for all. In cooperation with Sutter Health, the Modesto Children’s Museum will be handing out thousands of eclipse glasses and leading hands-on educational programing to families at the many viewing sites.
Along with a viewing at Gallo Center for the Arts, 1000 I St., Modesto, all branches of the Stanislaus County Library system will take part in the special eclipse event. Locally, the Oakdale Library at 151 S. First Ave., Oakdale and the Riverbank Library at 3442 Santa Fe St., Riverbank, will welcome in families for the viewing. Other branch libraries taking part are in Modesto, Denair, Keyes, Newman, Patterson, Salida and Turlock.
