SORRY WE MISSED YOU!

Modesto Children’s Museum is closed on Tuesdays for museum cleaning, exhibit maintenance, and team training. However, there’s still fun to have in downtown Modesto! Here are some ideas to make the most of your day in “DoMo” until we can see you again…!

PURCHASE TICKETS FOR OUR NEXT DAY!

Modesto Children’s Museum is open 10 AM to 5 PM every day but Tuesday. We offer Morning Admission (which becomes valid at opening) or Afternoon Admission (beginning at 1 PM). Either way, you can play all day! Reserve your tickets now for our next available day using the buttons below, or see other ticketing options here.

“DO LUNCH” AT GOOD DAY LUCILLE!

Located just two blocks (only a six minute walk) from MoChiMu, Lucille is a casual, family-owned breakfast and lunch joint… and our preferred caterer for our Birthdays @ MoChiMu celebrations!

Enjoy locally-sourced sandwiches, house-made biscuits, scratch made desserts, a delectable kid’s menu, and more!

Order takeout on Lucille’s website, here, or browse the menu as you walk and then simply order at the counter when you arrive!

“BOOK IT” TO THE MODESTO LIBRARY!

Just an eight minute walk up I Street is the Modesto branch of the Stanislaus County Library! Browse thousands of books, register for a family workshop, sign up for a reading challenge, or just enjoy the library’s countless no-cost programs, story times, events, classes, and more!

Stanislaus County Library is a longstanding partner for MoChiMu programming, too, with our Outreach Workshops offered at museum locations seasonally!

Go on a DOMO MURALS SCAVENGER HUNT!

Every autumn, the Modesto Artists Movement recruits artists from around the region to turn “DoMo” (Downtown Modesto) into a citywide canvas for muralists as part of the DoMo Walls initiative! In 2023, the back of the museum was transformed into a colorful mix of rainbows and insects!

Use the map below to take a “scavenger hunt” around downtown to find building-high murals of sunflowers, primates, cats, Star Wars heroes and villains, and more!

“TUNE IN” AT THE STATE THEATER!

Just a five minute walk from MoChiMu is the historic State Theater – a local non-profit showplace for exceptional cultural, educational, film and performance-based experiences. Offering a rotating schedule of films, presentations, and programs, The State is a perfect place to escape the weather.

View the State Theater’s current lineup of programming and purchase tickets at the State Theater’s website!
